The JXD S7800B hardware is designed for retro gaming, with a large touch-screen, face buttons and dual-stick setup – and the device also features a user interface that makes adding and playing games and emulators as straightforward as possible.
There are a two easy ways to download games/apps to your JXD – either wirelessly over Wi-Fi, or via your PC using a USB connection.
How To Add Games To Your JXD
If you want to download apps and games wirelessly, select the Settings app on the main screen, make sure Wi-Fi is turned on, and connect to the JXD to your router. You can now utilise internet functionality in various pre-installed apps – such as:
Play Store
The JXD runs on Android, and provides full access to the Play store via an app on the main menu. From the Play store, you can download more apps – some are premium, and others are free. The JXD is fully compatible with paid apps/games and can run things like Netflix without issue – it’s definitely worth checking out the Play store if you want to make the most of your JXD.
Emulator Store
The JXD does not come “pre-loaded” with emulators or games – but they are only a click away, and adding them doesn’t require any expert knowledge.
From the main menu of your device, you can use the “Emulator Store” app to easily download the majority of key emulators . These are all free! Just tap the on the platform you’re looking to download an emulator for, and it’ll install instantly. Alternative emulators are available via the Play store, as well as emulators for platforms not featured on the Emulator Store screen.
Game Files
Once you have some emulators installed, you’ll need to download some game files.
Drag-and-Drop via USB – The Best Way To Add Games
The most efficient way to add game files to your JXD is by connecting the device to your PC and using it as a storage unit. To do this:
1) Connect your JXD to your PC via the USB cable that comes boxed with your device.
2) Turn on the JXD.
3) When prompted, select “Turn on USB storage” on the JXD touchscreen.
4) Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the JXD drive, which may be seen as “DISK”. 16GB JXD models will offer around 13.5GB of space, and 8GB JXD models will offer around 5.5GB – this is standard with any modern device that reserves space for the OS.
5) Select “Games” from the JXD’s directory.
6) Game files are organised by folders according to platform.
7) Just drag-and-drop your game file from your PC to the relevant folder.
8) When you’re done moving game files, head back to the top of the directory and right-click on the JXD from the “This PC” screen – hit “Eject”.
9) You can now select “Turn Off USB Storage” on your JXD and load it up as normal.

Be aware that some emulators may have certain requirements for reading game files – some, for instance, may require games to be unzipped before the emulator can identify the files as games. Always check emulator requirements with the developer before chalking an issue down to a problem with the device.

Alternatively, you can try downloading games wirelessly. Using the Happy Chick app that is pre-loaded on your JXD, you can browse a library of available game files to download straight to the device. This is a convenient method of adding games, but it can take a considerable amount of time to download larger files via wireless connection. Users will sometimes tell us that they believe their JXD has a Wi-Fi issue due to problematic Happy Chick downloads – but the Happy Chick service is operated independently to your device and is subject to its own slowdown and server downtime, and any issues with Happy Chick are not related to your actual device. For this reason, we recommend connecting your JXD to your PC to add games whenever possible.
Difficulty Setting Up Emulators?
Some emulators are easier to use than others – older, cart-based platforms are very straightforward and require no expertise. Some tinkering may be needed for more modern, disc-based formats – the system BIOS is needed to emulate the hardware, and these can’t legally be distributed with the emulator. If you require a system BIOS, a quick Google search might come in handy.
Semi-Functioning/Non-Functioning Emulators or ROMs

Although most JXD users have told us they set the device up and started playing without any major issues, we occasionally receive compatibility complaints – for instance, games that don’t run properly or suffer sound/graphical issues – with the suggestion that the device may be at fault. In the vast majority of cases, this is not correct – especially if the problems are isolated to one emulator or one game file only. The Android OS is an open development platform and some emulators may function better than others – if they’re faulty, they’ll be faulty on other Android devices, not just your JXD. Conversely, if the emulator works in some instances but you’re having trouble with a particular game, it may be the game file which is at fault – poorly-dumped game files will present performance issues.
In either case, try an alternative emulator or game file to see if performance improves.
And If You Have Deleted the Core Files From Your JXD…
We do not recommend any reckless deletion of files from your JXD via Storage Mode – files that seem innocuous can prove integral to the functionality of the device. If Happy Chick is gone, the Emulator Store is blank (i.e. no emulators or platforms show up when you click it), or any other functionality has been lost after alterations to the directory, go to the JXD website and reinstate the core files. Alternatively, direct emulators direct from the Play store, and use the drag-and-drop method to add game files yourself – this is the better option anyway.
